Porsche is opening a new training centre in Cape Town, where men and women from disadvantaged backgrounds receive training to become automotive service mechatronics engineers.
MAHA’s Johannesburg subsidiary is supporting the project and subsidising a two-post lift for the training workshop.
Haldenwang, 11 May 2017. MAHA attaches a great deal of importance to social commitment. In this spirit, the global company’s subsidiaries support local charitable projects too. The South African subsidiary, MAHA South Africa (Pty.) Ltd., has now provided a lift for a social education programme that Porsche is running in Cape Town.
As part of an extensive training initiative, in the future people from disadvantaged backgrounds will be given the chance to receive training in a special training centre in Cape Town with a view to them becoming automotive service mechatronics engineers. The goal of Porsche, the initiator, is to offer the men and women career prospects in the Volkswagen Group’s commercial organisations. In seminar rooms and a training workshop, the talented young people receive training for the VW commercial organisations and are prepared for working as automotive service mechatronics engineers.
MAHA is also helping to improve the education system and to make the participants fit for the future by opening professional prospects up to them. “We are delighted to be able to provide a lift for this fantastic project, because this allows the trainees to learn and further develop in the teaching workshop while they’re standing right next to a car,” explains Clinton Lambert, Managing Director of MAHA South Africa (Pty.) Ltd. A sound education and well-trained specialists in particular are ultimately the key to success, and the project as a whole is therefore a huge opportunity for everyone involved.”
The social corporate culture at MAHA is also reflected in the active role played by the private, charitable foundation set up by Winfried Rauch, the company founder. For many years, it has been providing support in situations where other agencies are unprepared to step in to people who find themselves in difficulty through no fault of their own.
