Minimising downtime and endeavouring to ensure consistent, strong performance of its test lane equipment were the two crucial factors in Cawley Commercials signing up to MAHA Ireland’s preventative maintenance programme.
Rathcoole, 5th September 2023 With two test lanes and a high vehicle throughput, Cawley Commercials needs reliable equipment and fast, dependable customer service. MAHA Ireland has both in abundance; it has enjoyed a partnership with Cawley Commercials since the mid-noughties, with roller brake, emissions, headlight, sideslip testers, as well as axle play detectors and other related vehicle lifting and load simulation equipment, comprising of this busy Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test centre.
“No-brainer”
Based close to Sligo and serving the North-West of Ireland since 1984 as a main Scania dealer, Cawley Commercials is a family-run business, which strives to offer “unrivalled loyalty” to its ever-growing customer base. As well a CVRT centre, accepting both HGV and LGVs for testing, it also has a dedicated service and parts facility. This further supports their customers’ needs.
With customer service the epitome of its operation, the decision to invest in MAHA Ireland equipment and, in particular, its preventative maintenance programme was a “no brainer” according to Collette Cawley.
She said: “Signing up to MAHA Ireland’s preventative maintenance was a straightforward decision: the equipment is standing against the test of time and fewer call-outs have been required.
“Naturally, there have been occasions when we’ve needed to contact the office team and service engineers have been dispatched – their attentiveness and support is exceptional. Their service has meant niggles have been eradicated before turning into significant issues and the potential closing of lanes.
“We are happy to capitalise on the extra service – and consider it money well spent! Furthermore, we intend to continue with this cover, which will include support for any future equipment upgrades – we certainly recommend it to colleagues in the industry.”
MAHA Ireland Managing Director, Eoin Mallon, added: “Our preventative maintenance offers customers, like Cawley Commercials, reassurance that excellent performance levels can be maintained, and the lifecycle of workshop equipment can be stretched.”
How does MAHA Ireland’s preventative maintenance work?
Upon signing-up, MAHA Ireland generates an agreed periodic schedule reminder for the customer, with dates agreed in advance and an allocation of just three hours per test lane.
What’s more, with the engineers’ knowledge and experience, they are often able to identify and act upon unforeseen, underlying issues that could otherwise create unplanned, inconvenient interruptions. The preventative maintenance service should also enhance safety and working conditions for staff, with a detailed record of work performed provided upon completion.
Preventative maintenance is available at equipment purchase or during its service life – it’s never too late to start!
