Brake Tester MBT 2100 in Plug and Play version

Plug and Play is one of the characteristic features of this new roller brake tester MBT 2100. The well-known English expression "Plug and Play" always defines the char acteristic of technical devices to selectively connect periphery equipment without complicated installation and settings. Optional trouble-free upgrading of functions
For the MBT 2100, Plug and Play refers to the various function expansions which can be adapted to the needs of the user. For example, a PC or a printer can be attached to the existing RS 232 interface. Connections to a PC network are possible. Additional upgrades include: remote control to manually intervene in the normal automatic procedure of a measurement, connection of an axle load scale, a pedal force meter or the counter run control for brake testing on 4-wheel drive vehicles.

Mounting and installation with minimum effort
"Plug and Play" also applies to all of this. All mechanical parts are in a self-supporting, enclosed roller set unit with a sturdy casing. It is set into a foundation. There is a casing between the two roller pairs in which the entire test stand electronic is located. There are only two external cables: for power supply and signal transmission. The design is ideal for uncomplicated and time-saving installation.

Important data, versions and functions
The MBT 2100 has been developed for brake testing on cars and commercial vans. The maximum permissable axle load, depending on version, is 3 to 5 t. The track widths are in the range of 780 to 2200 mm and/or optionally from 780 to 2800 mm. Roller pairs are driven either by 2.5 kW or 4 kW motors at a test speed of 3 and/or 5 km/h. Measurement value recording is done using a strain gauge measurement system. The meas - urement values are displayed on 2 large, easy-to-read analogue displays with a diameter of 350 mm. The differential display for left to right brake force difference is located between the analogue display.
Status display for functional operation and test readiness is also located here. The extremely flat housing can be attached to the wall or put on a pedestal. It is equipped with several automatic functions: electronic startup monitoring, slip switch-off, re-starting, exit assistance, test stand switch-off after vehicle exit. Test rollers can be welded or coated with synthetic. Optionally a safety cover is available for the rollers.

Conclusion

MAHA’s new development is the successor to the proven MAHA roller brake tester IW2 WB. The new MBT 2100 can be used universally thanks to its sophisticated functionality, sturdy design based on extensive MAHA experience with over 50,000 roller brake testers produced to date and the many Plug and Play upgrading possibilities: for vehicle reception, as a diagnostic tool and for the main inspection program.

So that the Climate in your Vehicle is just right
The new MAHA Air Conditioning System Service Equipment MAC 2000

Air Conditioning Systems
in Cars are becoming ever more Popular More and more vehicles are equipped with them. In regions of the world which have warmer climates they are already standard equipment. And even in central Europe, air conditioning systems are no longer considered a special feature, but are listed as standard. And this, inspite of the increased fuel consumption required. Especially high performance cars are equipped with this feature, but increasingly smaller models also have it. As the slogan goes, “Once you have it you never want to be without it again.” In fact, it is very pleasant to drive in an air conditioned vehicle when the outside temperatures are hot. The driver can concentrate on driving, meaning that air conditioned cars provide an additional safety feature for drivers and the environment.

Consequences for the Service Sector
If it is true that already 60 to 70% of all cars have air conditioning systems installed, the service aspect becomes essential and commercially interesting. This cannot be done without air conditioning service equipment. Fully automatic units like the MAC 2000 save money. The mechanic is not tied to the vehicle during the fully automatic service procedure. MAHA is offering the MAC 2000 (MAC = MAHA Air Conditioning Unit) as a new addition to its product program. This replaces the earlier model RS2. An announcement for the future: this type of air conditioning service equipment is being planned for commercial vehicles – to round out the delivery program.

New MAHA Air Conditioning Service Equipment MAC 2000
All the service steps on the cooling system of the vehicle’s air conditioning system are executed fully automatically: recovery of refrigerant, recycling of it, (cleaning of solids caused by friction etc. separation of oil without which the compressor will not work properly), residual pressure measurement and evacuation, charging of oil for the compressor and refrigerant with UV additive (with filling quantity compensation of the service hose). Leakage control is also part of the cycle. The large filling cylinder (heated, 15 kg content) favors quick filling and cleaning which is part of the MAC 2000 service package. The 500-ml old oil container facilitates longer exchange intervals. A measurement value printer, which is standard with diagnostic and service units, documents the data. There is also a charging quantity database and operator guidance with large display and manometer.

All these features guarantee an easy, secure operation and fast service procedure. This kind of service is not part of an obligatory inspection system, so a cost-related price is needed to make it attractive. And the MAC 2000 offers exactly these kinds of cost-reduction functional steps.

Guard Rails: hydraulically raised and lowered

Hydraulically raised and lowered guard rails "Raising and Lowering Made to Order" – this is the slogan used by the department presenting special solutions for special tasks.

Hydraulically lowered guard rails is one example of a special solution, e.g. the center guard rails of freeways. Normally speaking guard rails serve as a separation between driving lanes and a stable protection should vehicles make dangerous movements into oncoming traffic. At times, however, it becomes necessary to make variable use of driving lanes, i.e. during road repair, accidents, etc. Quick changes during different conditions are very helpful.
A suitable solution is the vertical movement of divided guard rail elements or concrete guard elements. Inground hydraulic lifting and lowering cylinders move the elements. In a raised state the elements function like a fixed guard rail. Lowered, a vehicle can easily drive over the element. Lowering and raising is done in about 1 minute respectively. Other applications to move heavy loads using this kind of special design are feasible.
